Synopsis:
The film revolves around the traditional craft of pottery-making in Upper Egypt, a heritage art form on the verge of extinction. It seeks to offer a vivid documentation of this vanishing practice through the story of El-osta Sayed, a master potter who embodies a living bridge between past and present. He continues to practice the craft of pottery, handed down from generation to generation, like a silent hymn drawn from the very soil and spirit of the land.
The film sheds light on his daily struggle to make a living, as the demand for pottery has sharply declined in the age of technology and modern appliances such as refrigerators, leaving the craft on the brink of oblivion. Yet, El-osta Sayed refuses to abandon his art, clinging to his craft and defending the heritage of his forefathers, as though carrying on his shoulders the memory of the place and the fragrance of history.
