Reinforcing the tremendous success of its inaugural edition last year, the Helsinki Arab Film Festival (HelAFF) has selected the Korjaamo Cultural Centre in the middle of the Finnish Capital Helsinki as the venue for its highly anticipated second edition. Scheduled to run from September 8th to 13th, 2025, the festival aims to keep Finnish audiences and film enthusiasts informed and engaged with the vibrant Arabic cinematic landscape.
"The second edition will be a cornerstone of our festival," said Mr. Azer Sawiris, co-founder and president of HelAFF. "While the first edition tested our capacities to host such an important event, this upcoming festival will further solidify our commitment to promoting Arabic cinema."
Mr. Sawiris expressed his enthusiasm about choosing Korjaamo as the venue, noting its distinction as a leading location for major cinema-related events.
HelAFF is a collaborative initiative between the Helsinki-based 1001 Steps Organisation, which champions Middle Eastern arts, music, and cinema in Northern Europe, and the EU-MAN Organisation, which has been dedicated to cultural development in Finland and across Europe for over 25 years.
